About Dianne Milliard
I’m Dianne Milliard, a seasonal park ranger who has spent 24 seasons working in Wrangell-St. Elias, Denali, and Death Valley National Park. I have really enjoyed my time with the Park Service, helping visitors understand why our special places are so special and helping to inspire them to love and care for them.
I live in McCarthy, Alaska, a tiny community deep in the heart of the Wrangells. I have lived here over 20 years, on the edge of the wilderness.
In the seasons when I'm not working as a park ranger I do freelance writing, photography, and destination marketing throughout the western US. There are too many beautiful places in the world to spend ALL your life in just one, so I spend that time traveling, learning about and getting to know other landscapes, which I try to share with others through my photography.
